Nathan and I finally got our garden planted. We are growing a lot of things up instead of on the ground. Pole beans, peas, cucumbers, watermelon and cantaloupe. And we are growing potatoes in containers.
I absolutely love your place. It is so quaint! The rose garden, veggie garden, and the flowers around the tree and water fountain are beautiful! It’s lovely to see family enjoying the great outdoors, while spending quality time and helping each other out.
Thank you very much. My grandkids and I love gardening and cooking together. We are making wonderful memories.
What beautiful gardens. Wondered what your zone is for the roses. I grew them for years, but back then could mulch over the graft with dirt. Now many years later, can no longer protect them in that way and have lost so many. Most are labeled zone 5 and we are zone 4 so am saddened that I must give up on them. I see you are growing many of those I had for years. Do you mulch over winter??
Unfortunately, I don’t have these roses anymore. I had so much trouble with deer and other pests and I just got to a point in my life I couldn’t take care of them anymore. I do have a few shrub roses though that don’t require much care.
Hey Dixie, This is Marci Wiese and I just am checking in to say I hope all is well with you in 2018. I miss your posts and recipes and hope all is well with you and your family. I always re-read your rose information and admire your beautiful garden in these photos. God bless and hope to hear from you.
Love,
Marci
